Associate Reserves Engineer

Summary

Elk Range Royalties is seeking an Associate Reserves Engineer, which is a high-impact and visible role on our team. The successful applicant will be an integral part of the Engineering Team and will report directly to the VP of Engineering as well as work closely with the VP of Finance and Accounting and CEO. The role will be in Dallas, Texas and is required to be in-person.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead reserves administration across Elk Range portfolio (>10,000 well database across multiple entities).

    • Integrate new acquisitions and recent activity wells into corporate database.

    • Adjust production forecasts, type curves and development timing models.

    • Coordinate with land administration on ownership and unit assumptions.

  • Manage offshore resources to optimize team productivity.

  • Deliver quarterly reserves updates and accompanying reporting to management and capital partners.

  • Coordinate with third-party institutions to facilitate divestitures and reserve redeterminations.

  • Support year-end financial audits with supplementary reporting.

Hard skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or related field

  • 0-5 years' experience in reservoir engineering, reserves, or database management

  • Technical proficiency in Combocurve/Aries, Spotfire/PowerBI, QGIS/Arc

  • Python and SQL skills are a plus

Travel Requirements

  • Potential 5% - 10% domestic and international travel required for meetings, trainings, and conferences. International travel would involve an annual on-site training session with the team in India.
