Geology Internship

Elk Range Royalties is an active buyer of mineral and royalty interests in the US. Summary

Elk Range Royalties is seeking a motivated Petroleum Geology Intern to join our technical team and gain hands-on experience evaluating oil and gas assets across major U.S. producing basins. The intern will work alongside geologists and other members of the technical team to analyze subsurface data, characterize reservoirs, and evaluate development activity to support technical assessments of mineral and royalty opportunities.

The intern will gain practical experience applying geology to real-world oil and gas investment decisions. The role provides exposure to subsurface interpretation, reservoir evaluation, operator development strategies, technical due diligence, and the economics of mineral and royalty ownership. Intern will have the opportunity to work directly with experienced professionals and develop a broader understanding of how geological analysis influences asset valuation and investment strategy.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Geoscience, Geological Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of fundamental geology, petrophysics, stratigraphy, sedimentology, and structural geology.

  • Interest in petroleum geology, unconventional resource development, and subsurface interpretation.

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to independently investigate technical problems.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

  • Graduating after Summer 2027
